Its combination brush reaches corners and edges and then automatically increases suction when it spots carpet. It also does a great job of cleaning dirt from mid-pile carpet. The IQ's tiny dock footprint and self-emptying feature are nice touches. However, if you want to change the floor levels on the map or create no-go zones, you'll need manually reset it to do so, which is somewhat of a hassle.
The IQ app offers some advanced mapping and automated features, however it does not have no-go zones. These are available only on iRobot robots. Its intelligent-pathing navigation system provides superior maneuverability and its high-pile carpet mode is clean well, although it does have a tendency to get caught up in rug tassels. Additionally, its iHome speaker allows you to control the robot with voice commands.
In our tests, we observed that the IQ handled pet hair well. It was able to get rid of a large amount of debris on floors that were not bare and a good amount on medium-pile rug. It was less effective on shag carpets, as it had a hard time reaching dirt and dust buried within the fibers. It was capable of navigating the legs of chairs and tight spaces, as well as the base of a wooden IKEA step stool. It was slower on flooring that was not fully covered, but it recovered speed and performed better than other robots that we tested.
The IQ is a more suitable option for the majority of users than the iRobot Roomba. It has a bigger dustbin and a longer battery life and is better at navigating obstacles. It has website mopping tools that are able to clean up sticky mess. The iRobot, however, feels better constructed and has less components that require maintenance or replacement and incurs fewer cost per year, and can create virtual no go zones using its companion application. In our tests, the eufy 11S was extremely effective at removing large particles and fine dust on hard flooring. However, it was unable to give medium and high pile carpets a thorough clean. The device has a tendency to bump into furniture and people along its route. However, it can detect obstacles with sensors. When it encounters them, it halts and emits a loud sound so you can manually guide it around the obstacle and get it back to work.
Another great aspect of the eufy 11S is its BoostIQ mode that lets you set the robot to automatically adjust the strength of its suction to match floor type and level of mess. It's also easy to use the remote to direct the 11S where you'd like it to move.
If you don't have a lot of furniture in the room you want to vacuum Single Room Mode is an excellent option. The eufy will spend up to 30 minutes cleaning the area it is assigned.
Edge Cleaning is another option that reduces the time spent on each surface to just 20 minutes. This will extend battery life. With this option, the eufy will move in a spiral, tackling corners and edges to ensure a clean.
Miele Complete C1
The Miele Complete C1 canister robot is a great mid-range vacuum cleaner that is a winner on carpet. Its performance on floors that are not bare is also impressive. It can pick up small particles like rice easily and it doesn't suffer from suction power even when its dirt bin gets full. Its air-sealed design and allergy-friendly design snuff out allergens, keeping your family healthy. It uses an onboard HEPA filter and a self-emptying dustbin, which means you won't need to purchase additional filters or a separate vacuum bag.
It's not quite as powerful as other models, but is still ideal for deep cleaning and taking on the toughest stains.
